SCOTTY ENTERPRISES ist ein Raum von Künstlern für Künstler, gegründet 2006 mit Sitz in Kreuzberg in der Mitte Berlins.

Zur Besatzung des Kunst-Raumschiffs gehören insgesamt 18 Künstlerinnen und Künstler; mit Malerei, Zeichnung, Fotografie, Installation, Film und Video ist ein weites Spektrum an künstlerischen Medien vertreten.

SCOTTY ENTERPRISES präsentiert künstlerische Positionen und realisiert Ausstellungen von und mit internen und externen Künstlern. Es konzipiert Veranstaltungsreihen (Filmabende, Vorträge) zu Themen, die innerhalb der Gruppe diskutiert werden und ist Projektplattform für die Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Künstlerorganisationen

Spielraum für künstlerische Experimente

Der Rekurs auf die legendäre science fiction-Serie „Raumschiff Enterprise“ im Namen ist bewusst gewählt, denn es geht durchaus um Fiktionen in und mit der Kunst – und um die Erforschung von Möglichkeiten zur Realisierung derselben. Dazu gehören die gelebte Praxis künstlerischer Selbstorganisation, die Erschließung von ästhetischen Methoden quer zu den gängigen Kunstmarktstrategien sowie die Erzeugung von diskursivem Mehrwert.

Bei SCOTTY ENTERPRISES gibt es kein Label und keine verbindlichen Vorgaben. Stattdessen eröffnet das Unternehmen größtmögliche Freiheit des Einzelnen bei maximaler Ausnutzung des Gruppenpotentials. Einzel- und Gruppeninteressen befinden sich in einem permanenten Dialog. Demokratische Vereinbarungen helfen bei der Projektplanung und –realisierung.

SCOTTY ENTERPRISES, founded 2006, is a space from artists for artists, located in Kreuzberg in the city of Berlin.

The crew of the art-spaceship consists of 18 artists; with painting, drawing, photography, installation, film and video a wide spectrum of artistic media is represented.

SCOTTY ENTERPRISES presents artistic positions and realizes exhibitions with internal and external artists. It organizes events like film evenings and lectures about subjects which are discussed in the group and it is a platform for projects with other artists organisations.

SCOTTY ENTERPRISES is

exhibition space, thinking space, space of action,and it gives spacefor artistic experiments.

The reference to the legendary science fiction series “Spaceship Enterprise” in the name is consciously chosen because SCOTTY ENTERPRISES is about fictions in and with art – and about the exploration of possibilities to realize them. This includes the artistic self-organization, the development of aesthetic methods different from the common art market strategies as well asthegeneration of added discursive value.

SCOTTY ENTERPRISES does not commit to a label or binding guidelines.Instead, the enterprise offers maximum freedom of the individual and at the same time makes full use of the potential of group work. Individual and group interests are in constant dialogue. Democratic agreements help planning and realizing projects.
